Direct from its September World Premiere at the Venice Film Festival, we’re delighted to be presenting the new film by Silvio Soldini, best known for the multi award-winning drama Bread and Tulips.
Teo (Giannini) is a creative in a trendy ad agency. Good looking and blessed with charming manners, he enjoys life as an elusive womaniser. Emma has been blind since she was 16, but that has not stopped her from becoming an osteopath. She is pretty, vibrant and has great friends. When they first meet at an event held in total darkness, Teo is mesmerized by her voice. Emma, freshly out of her marriage is too smart to give into the illusion of his affection, but he seems like the perfect carefree man to indulge in a bit of fun with. Both are happy to be distracted by one another for a time, but against all odds it is Teo who is hooked.
Silvio Soldini’s absorbing romance is charmingly grounded and funny, complete with warm and well-drawn characters, remarkable women and wonderful chemistry between the leads. We are excited to bring Emma to Australian audiences so soon after its World Premiere.
